Keep Splott Tidy Fundraising Evening: don’t skip this! Ha ha (I love a pun)!

Get your quiz groove on and prove your not rubbish by coming along to the very first Keep Splott Tidy fundraising event.

On Thursday the 10th of November at 7pm, Keep Splott Tidy will be hosting its first community fundraiser with a quiz and a raffle at Splott’s own Cottage Pub.

We want to buy our own litter pick equipment, like hoops, pickers, gloves and the obligatory high viz vests, and raise money for insurance, so that we don’t have to drag Gareth Davies from Keep Wales Tidy out of bed once a month on a weekend to help us keep your streets of Splott clean and tidy.

The Keep Splott Tidy committee has organised a quiz and raffle with amazing prizes to help us on our way and we hope you’ll come along to our community event, show your support, give a pound or two and have a jolly good time in one of the only old pubs left in the area.

The main raffle prize is a beautiful hand-made guitar from local business Limerick Guitars (thank you Chris and Deb!).  Also to be won is a meal for four at The Cottage, vouchers for Cardiff Paint Supplies and Infinity Trampoline Park, plants and shrubs from Cardiff Parks department and lots, lots more.  Top three quiz teams will win boozy delights (a slab of beer and the priceless title of Quiz Masters of Splott will go to the team that comes first). Our top trash prize for the team who is most enthusiastic but may not perform the best is that we will clean your street at our November litter pick!

Also, to raise funds, we will be selling these amazing prints of the Harvest Moon, taken in Splott, for £2 a go.  Prints kindly donated by local business Davies Colour Ltd and taken by honorary Inksplott photographer Louise Clarke.  These are unique piccies you won’t get anywhere else (unless you ask very nicely!).

Quiz teams between 2 and 6 people please (no phone shenanigans!) and you have to arrive with your awesome team name already sorted (because, there may be a secret prize for the best team name!  As judged by our local Councillor Ed Stubbs who has also generously offered to be quiz master and independent adjudicator).

Come join us at The Cottage on the 10th November for a fun night of pitting wits, meeting people, having a drinkie, proving your quiz prowess and gaining a lovely glowing feeling from supporting your local community.

You just might win a guitar or free grub!
