Local group, Girls Together Splott, have achieved great things over the past few years with members taking part in marathons and many an organised run that’s less than…oh who am I kidding, I don’t know how long a marathon course is! But I know these girls are great and an inspiration to us all!
In a timely move, being the season of New Year’s resolutions and all, the group has launched a session for new runners and are encouraging people with little or no running experience to join them on a Thursday evening to stretch their legs and enter into the much-loved land of running.
The new beginners running group meets ever Thursday outside the Old Splott Library on Singleton Road at 6.15pm to warm up before a few laps around Moorland Park. Runners who graduate to the more experienced group go further afield in a route that takes in the bay.
The group leaders are experienced and lovely: read more in a previous Inksplott interview here.
