It’s not every day that a mini-opera comes to Splott, but that’s exactly what’s happening this half term.
When the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Schools’ Opera decided to tour their performance of legendary fable Snow White and put feelers out for community venues, Splott Community Volunteers leapt at the opportunity.
Now, thanks to the collaboration, a cast of 13 second-year students from the college will perform a family-friendly re-telling of the Brothers Grimm tale in the main hall at the old STAR Leisure centre on Splott Road on Thursday 15th February.
The project is a small-scale touring opera performance and will run for 40-50 minutes.
The free performance will take place in the old sports hall on Thursday the 15th of February at 1pm (access from the back of the STAR Centre – through the gates on Railway Street opposite A1 tyres).
The show is primarily for a school-aged audience but organisers assure that it should be fun for the whole family.
