This Saturday morning, two volunteer groups will take to the streets in competition to see who can collect the most litter from their areas and declare themselves litter picking champions!
Between 10am and 12noon on Saturday 23rd of March, Keep Splott Tidy and Keep Adamsdown Tidy will go head-to-head as part of Keep Wales Tidy’s ‘Spring Clean Cymru 2024‘.
All equipment will be provided, including litter pickers, hoops, bags, high vis vests and gloves (the groups also have smaller versions for children).
Lynne Thomas, Chair of Keep Splott Tidy said:
“Our group is about much more than litter picking. It’s about community spirit, friendship, connections and wellbeing. It’s great to be out and about making a positive difference.”
If you would like to join in, meet at the entrance to Horwood Close, opposite the old Moorland Pub on Moorland Road, at 10am on Saturday morning.
The groups meet up separately every months to tackle different parts of their wards and make a positive difference in their communities. It’s also a great chance to meet new people and form community connections.
Time credits are available for volunteers, which can be exchanged for a range of different experiences in Cardiff and beyond.
