Growing Street Talk is an exciting new project for people living in Splott & Grangetown to help transform the front of homes in the area and the ladies behind the green initiative would like to invite you to the official local launch.

The project will deliver a range of practical gardening workshops, bring residents together to improve their front gardens & help make streets greener, cleaner & friendlier.

At the launch you’ll have a chance to:

  • meet neighbours and new people
  • find out how you can get involved
  • help plan the gardening workshops
  • take away your free edible plant
  • book your free place on our first gardening workshop

The launch will take place on Saturday 20th October between 10am and 12pm at The Old Library, Singleton Rd, Splott, CF24 2ET

Please book your free place on growing-street-talk-splott.eventcube.io.

All Splott, Tremorfa and Pengam Green residents are welcome! Come along and be part of this exciting new project!

Growing Street Talk is the brainchild of Splottlander Liz Court and Michele Fitzsimmons, who were awarded £99,994 in June to improve neighbourliness, connectivity, volunteering and community organising in Grangetown and Splott in Cardiff by working with partners and community members to develop community-led, street-based groups capable of developing their front gardens to make the local streets greener.

Keep Splott Tidy is one of the project partners and is delighted to be involved:

Lynne Thomas, Chair of Keep Splott Tidy, said,

“We’ve been talking about doing this for ages, and Liz came along on a litter pick and mentioned this Upfront Gardens project, and we thought “oh my gosh, this is serendipity”. We’ve teamed up as a partner on this fantastic project to try bring some greenification to houses in Splott, and even terraced houses without gardens. We’re delighted to be partners in this fantastic initiative in Splott, and Grangetown. Thank you, National Lottery players.”
