A dog is man’s best friend, or so the old adage goes, but poochies are also a firm favourite with little ones, as demonstrated by children attending Splott’s after-school club, Gold Stars.
Every year, club staff Anthony and Debbie ask the children which charity they would like to support and this year they have chosen Cardiff Dogs’ Home.
Anthony and Debbie firmly believe in letting the children make decisions for themselves:
“At Gold Stars After School Club, it is our ethos to help develop independent thinkers who care about issues in their community. Therefore, it is vital that the children who attend club are able to decide which charity they wish to help at Christmas. This year, the children led by Niah Pearse, Lily May Edwards and Kacey Pearse, chose Cardiff Dogs Home as their charity.
“We ask all groups and individuals who use The Old Library, friends and family if they could donate dog food, biscuits and treats to support the children with their nominated charity.”
If you would like to help, please take your donations to the Old Library, Singleton Road, Splott, before the end of Friday 22nd December.
