Local resident Amy Harris contacted Inksplott to share news of a support meeting taking place in Splott on Friday the 28th April.
“I am an ambassador for an organisation called Single Parents Wellbeing, which provides wellbeing workshops, support and events for single parent families across Wales. I have arranged a coffee morning at Ysgol Glan Morfa next Friday at 9am, with a view to getting more members in the Splott, Tremorfa and Adamsdown area.”
The event is supported by Single Parents Wellbeing, a charity that challenges the stigma of being a single parent by using the power of their network to ensure that single parents have a voice, using a compassionate, empowering and positive approach to being a single parent with a focus on wellbeing and preventing social isolation.

“I found becoming a single parent a very stressful time and it can sometimes feel lonely. I found the SPW Facebook group a great source of support and advice in the early days. I attended the wellbeing workshop and it was a great way to focus on my mental health and wellbeing. They will even pay your childcare so that you can attend! There are also lots of other events you can get involved in and meet other single parents, like outdoor meetups, adult only meetups, creative sessions and day trips.”
