Young people wanted to take part in the Prince’s Trust Summer Programme

The Prince’s Trust is looking for 16-25 year-olds who are not in education, work or training to take part in activities this summer.

The 12 week Fairbridge Programme starts with a one week ‘Access’ course which involves activities such as Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Caving and Gorge Walking; developing skills such as team work and communication.

This is followed by a range of courses that may include Sports, Drama & Media, Life Skills (cooking & budgeting), Food Hygiene, First Aid, Community Projects and Employability skills; with 1:1 support provided throughout the programme.

The programme is advertised as fun and a great way to develop confidence, teamwork skills and motivation. The staff also support attendees to apply for jobs, training, education and voluntary opportunities.

Benefits will not be affected and travel expenses are reimbursed each day with lunch, kit and equipment provided free.  The Prince’s Trust also offers a pickup service in the first week from Cardiff Central train station to their centre.
